As a manifestation of Love for our fellow humans, Odd Fellows practice aid to others as a cherished precept. The historic command of the Odd Fellow is to “Visit the Sick, Relieve the Distressed, Bury the Dead, Educate the Orphan.”
Another of the Order’s early leaders, Schuyler Colfax, later to become Vice President of the United States, and author of the beautiful Rebekah ritual, enjoined members to be “Guardian of the Widow, and Father of the Father – Helping others is ever a mandate for our members.
As an Odd Fellow, you get to take an active role in helping your community and making the world a
better place – within the lodge, the local community, and beyond.
